My main interests lie in the management of invasive species and the recovery of native species, and particularly the interaction of these two areas. I am principally interested in how fine-scale species interactions can have cascading effects and affect populations at a landscape scale. I have an MSc in Conservation & Biodiversity (2014), a BSc in Zoology (2013) and completed my PhD in 2019.
My PhD research contributed to the Vincent Wildlife Trust’s pine marten recovery project. My work investigated the impacts of pine marten recovery on grey squirrel populations through a ‘Landscape of Fear’ approach. I used a number of different field and lab techniques including GPS and VHF tracking of wild animals, small mammal trapping, scat and stable isotope analysis, behavioural observations and feeding experiments.
I am now working as the Pine Marten Conservation Project Manager at the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust.
